    Conference Program

    The conference is scheduled to take place on November 10-12, 2011. Scholars from the United States and several other countries will be presenting papers in six different panels.

    All panels will be held at the Mershon Center for International Security Studies, on 1501 Neil Avenue in Columbus, Ohio.

    The first day of the conference, taking place from 1:00 PM - 9:00 PM, will feature introductory remarks and the first panel, on al-Ghazālī's "Intellectual Background and Development." In the evening, Prof. Eric Ormsby will present the keynote speech. The evening will conclude with a reception with Dr. E. Gordon Gee, the President of the Ohio State University.     The second day of the conference, from 9:00 AM - 7:30 PM, features three panels and is dedicated to al-Ghazālī's reception in the Jewish, Christian, and Islamic realms. The second panel of the conference, "Al-Ghazālī and Jewish Thought," will examine his impact in Judaism; the third panel, "Al-Ghazālī and Christian Thought," will examine his impact in Christianity; finally, the fourth panel, "Al-Ghazālī in the Islamic Context," will examine al-Ghazālī in Islam.
